More Photos from Katire

Last Sunday, Sr. Mary Regina, a Sister of the Sacred Heart stationed in Juba, accompanied us to Katire. It was her first visit there in 25 years! After Mass she spoke to the congregation, and especially the children were fascinated by her. It may have been the first time some of them had seen a religious sister.

The boy and the girl below were especially captivated by Sr. Mary Regina.

There were a few new members in the congregation - two newborn babies! - and as always, lots of children.

After Mass, two Nubian men (from the Nuba tribe, located in the Nuba Mountains in the north of the country) who work for the diocese and are devout Catholics, brought me the gift of a small branch of mangos.

On the way back we encountered a truck stuck in the mud, which we helped to unstick. These sights will only become more familiar now that the rains have begun.

These are GREAT pictures! Sr Mary must be a wonderful nun. And yes, the children look like they are very rapt.
