The referendum voting has concluded in South Sudan, and the results are staggering. Many polling centers reported a 100% turnout of those registered there, and others were only a few votes shy.
One center returned these figures:
total votes: 2669
secession: 2654 (99.44%)
unity: 12 (less than 1%)
invalid: 1
missing: 2
Yesterday there was very encouraging news from Khartoum. A senior National Congress Party (Bashir's party) official made the statement that voting in the south was "broadly fair," and indicated the north would accept the result.
It's beyond amazing. It's absolutely a God event!
