On the Solemnity of St. Joseph this past Thursday, about a dozen of the priests of the diocese gathered for a day of recollection on the theme, "The Priesthood and St. Paul." The conferences touched on the topics of "St. Joseph and St. Paul: Celibacy and Spiritual Fatherhood," "Rediscovering Jesus with St. Paul," and "The Priesthood and St. Paul." The day went very well, and was both spiritually beneficial and fraternally enjoyable. Thank you for your prayers for this event.
Also this week I received copies of photos of the ordination of Fr. James Taban, the diocese's newest priest who happened to be present on the day of recollection, and two transitional deacons, which took place last June. Deacon Nelson Afation is shown in the first three photos, including with his family, some of whom are in traditional tribal dress. The last photo shows all three newly ordained.
