Roger’s spiritual adventure began with a personal encounter with Jesus at a retreat that Missioners of Christ directed in his parish in December 2006 entitled, “Your Life is Mission.” In this retreat God began to mold his life, and it was the beginning of his conversion. Shortly thereafter he had the privilege of accompanying Missioners on an evangelization outreach trip, serving beside Maynor Ballesteros (who spent five months in Sudan earlier this year) from whom he learned a great deal. Following this he was able to participate in a Bread of Life Eucharistic youth retreat, this time in Comayagua, where God really ignited within him a light to shine in the darkness, and caused his desire to be a missionary to grow. Roger spent nearly three years in the Missioners of Christ formation house in Comayagua before resuming his university studies. He continues as a extern member of the community and the desire to serve God remains strong in his heart, but he knows that he needs to finish his studies to be able to serve Him in a greater way.
